What is PaddleOCR?
PaddleOCR is an open-source OCR and document AI tool from the 飞桨 (PaddlePaddle) team that converts PDFs and images into structured data such as JSON and Markdown. PP-OCRv6 supports text recognition in 50 languages with a single model, and PaddleOCR-VL is an ultra-compact 0.9B vision-language model that supports document parsing in 109 languages. PP-StructureV3 converts complex PDFs and document images into Markdown and JSON while preserving their original structure, and PP-ChatOCRv4 extracts key information using ERNIE 4.5.
