What is OpenAI Codex CLI?
Codex CLI is a coding agent made by OpenAI that runs locally on the user's computer. It is installed with an install script on Mac and Linux and with PowerShell on Windows, and can also be installed via npm or Homebrew. Signing in with a ChatGPT account and using it as part of the Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, or Enterprise plans is recommended, and it can also be used with an API key after additional setup. An IDE extension, a desktop app (codex app), and the cloud agent Codex Web are also available separately. (The collected docs and pricing page contained only menus, so pricing could not be confirmed)
