What is Strands Agents?
Strands Agents is an open-source SDK for building and running AI agents in Python and TypeScript. It runs inside your own process with no hosted control plane, and bundles the features you need as a hand-written agent loop grows (lifecycle control such as turn limits, token budgets, and cancellation; tools; structured output; MCP; multi-agent; memory and sessions; streaming; guardrails; tracing; evaluation) into one SDK. It also provides a complete harness with optimized defaults, an agent sandbox (Box), a safe virtual shell, and an evaluation tool (evals).
