What is PettingZoo?
PettingZoo is a Python library for multi-agent reinforcement learning research and is the multi-agent counterpart of Gymnasium. It provides a simple interface for representing general MARL problems, along with a variety of reference environments, utilities, and tools for creating custom environments. Environments where agents act in turn are handled with the AEC API, and environments where agents act simultaneously are handled with the Parallel API. It includes the Atari, Butterfly, Classic, and SISL environment families and officially supports Linux and macOS.
