What is GitLab CI?
Placing a .gitlab-ci.yml file in the project root lets you define a pipeline made of stages and jobs. Pipelines are created on commits, merge requests, schedules, or manual runs, and runners execute the jobs. On GitLab.com you can use Linux, Windows, and macOS runners right away, and you can also register your own runners. Configuration is built with CI/CD variables and expressions and reusable CI/CD components.
