What is OpenMetadata?
OpenMetadata is an open-source platform that brings technical metadata, business meaning, and organizational memory together in a single knowledge graph, so people and AI agents understand data on the same foundation. It connects quality signals, column-level lineage, ownership, glossaries, classifications, data contracts, and data products. It provides more than 130 connectors, semantic search, APIs and SDKs, and an MCP server. Besides self-hosting, there is a managed service through Collate and a free SaaS.
