What is Apache Atlas?
Apache Atlas is a set of scalable core governance services that helps enterprises efficiently meet compliance requirements within Hadoop. It builds, classifies, and manages a catalog of data assets, and provides collaboration features for data scientists, analysts, and governance teams. It supports metadata types and instances, classification propagation through classification and lineage, a lineage UI, search, and fine-grained security. It integrates with Apache Ranger to apply classification-based permissions and data masking.
