What is OpenAI Agents SDK?
The OpenAI Agents SDK is a lightweight package for building agentic AI apps with few abstractions, and is a production-ready upgrade of the earlier experimental project Swarm. It is built from a small set of primitives: agents equipped with instructions and tools, handoffs that pass work to other agents, and guardrails that validate inputs and outputs. Built-in tracing lets you visualize, debug, and evaluate agent flows. It supports the OpenAI Responses and Chat Completions APIs as well as more than 100 other LLMs.
