What is Falcon?
Falcon is a family of large language models from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in the United Arab Emirates. The latest Falcon-H1 and Falcon-E improve efficiency with a hybrid architecture combining Transformer and Mamba. Falcon 3 processes not only text but also images, video, and audio, and runs even in lightweight environments such as laptops. There are also Arabic-specialized models (Falcon Arabic, Falcon-H1-Arabic) and an image understanding model, Falcon Perception. Falcon 180B and 40B were released for research and commercial use.
