What is MobileLLM?
MobileLLM is a model that combines the SwiGLU activation function, a deep and thin architecture, embedding sharing, and grouped-query attention to build high-quality LLMs with fewer than 1 billion parameters. MobileLLM-125M/350M achieve 2.7%/4.3% higher accuracy in zero-shot commonsense reasoning than the previous best models of the same size. Scaling up to 600M/1B/1.5B also showed state-of-the-art results. The follow-ups MobileLLM-R1 and R1.5 are math and coding reasoning models, with code, models, data, and training recipes all released. The models can be downloaded from HuggingFace.
