What is nanoclaw?

NanoClaw is a lightweight, open-source personal AI agent that runs on your own computer. It connects to the messengers you choose, such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, and Discord, and runs each active session in an isolated Docker container. Credentials go through the OneCLI Agent Vault by default, so the agent never holds the original API keys. The default provider is Claude, and Codex, OpenCode, and Ollama can be configured per agent group. It is described as offering the same core features as OpenClaw with a much smaller codebase.

  • Connect multiple messengers (WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Signal, etc.)
  • Docker container isolation per session
  • Separate workspace, memory, and credentials per agent group
  • Scheduled tasks (morning briefings, weekly reviews, etc.)
  • Add channels, providers, and tools through skills
  • Credential protection with OneCLI Agent Vault
  • Provider selection (Claude by default; Codex, OpenCode, Ollama)

Who uses nanoclaw and for what

  • An individual asks for topic research and summaries through a messenger
  • Delegate recurring tasks such as notifications and regular updates
  • Use as a personal assistant that remembers preferences and work details
