What is emdash?
Emdash (YC W26) is a free, open-source desktop app that runs coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex in parallel. Each task runs its agent in its own Git worktree, so you can try several fixes and features at once, then review the diffs and merge. It hands issues from Linear, Jira, GitHub, and more directly to agents, and schedules recurring agent runs. It runs agents not only on local projects but also on remote machines over SSH.
- Parallel agents, each task in a separate worktree
- Schedule recurring agent runs (automation)
- Preview in the in-app browser
- Supports 34 CLI-based agents
- Linear, Jira, GitHub, Notion, and Asana issue integration
- SSH remote development
- Library of prompts, skills, and MCP servers
- Check diffs, PRs, and CI checks
Who uses emdash and for what
- Automate recurring work such as bug checks, release preparation, and reviews with scheduled agent runs
- Run agents over SSH on dev servers, cloud VMs, and GPU machines
