What is Delta Lake?
Delta Lake is an open-source project that lets you build a lakehouse architecture on top of a data lake. It provides ACID transactions and scalable metadata handling on existing data lakes such as S3, ADLS, GCS, and HDFS, and unifies streaming and batch processing. It supports time travel, schema enforcement, and merge, update, and delete operations. With UniForm, Delta tables can also be read by Iceberg and Hudi clients, and it is an independent project under the Linux Foundation.
