Yongchu Valley is a stream valley in Ungchi-myeon, Boseong County, in South Jeolla Province (Jeonnam). This guide pulls together the registered car parks, emergency services, lodging and campgrounds near the valley. Two car parks named for Ilimsan Yongchu Falls sit close by, so getting here by car is straightforward. Everything below comes from public registries, so what you find on site may differ.

The name Yongchu also belongs to a valley on Daeyasan in Mungyeong, and the Korea Tourism Organization's description in our data refers to that one. We have not borrowed it here. This guide uses only the registered data for the Boseong valley, so check the place name (Boseong, Ungchi-myeon) before you navigate.

Water and safety

The data lists one managed swimming spot. No hazard points are registered, and no accident records appear in the data. However, there is no maximum depth on record, so the depth of the water is unknown. With stream swimming, it is safest to judge the depth and the current yourself on the day. If you bring children, keep an adult within arm's reach.

No toilets are registered near the valley in the data, so it is wise to stop somewhere before you arrive.

If you need a doctor

The nearest emergency rooms are Jangheung Uri Hospital (장흥우리병원), a regional emergency medical institution 9.6 km away, and Jangheung General Hospital (장흥종합병원), also regional, 9.7 km away. That is a real distance from the valley, so in an emergency call 119 first.

All three are registered as closed on Sundays, so if you visit on a Sunday, bring basic medicines with you. For accidents on water, the Korea Coast Guard can also be reached on 122.

Where to stay

Within 3 km of the valley there is only one licensed lodging, a residence-type property. Pensions and farm-stay guesthouses are registered under a different system and are not counted, so there may be more places to stay than this suggests.

For camping, Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest Campground (제암산자연휴양림 야영장), a general campsite, is 2.7 km from the valley. Booking rules can change by season, so check before you set off.

Distances are straight-line. Opening hours and fees can change, so check again before you travel. Emergency 119 · Coast Guard 122
