What is Vapi?
Vapi is a developer platform for building voice AI agents that make and receive phone calls, handling the complex infrastructure for you. It combines speech recognition, an LLM, and speech synthesis, and you can choose the provider and model for each component. It offers two approaches: single-prompt Assistants, and Squads, which hand off between multiple assistants while keeping context. You build with the dashboard, SDK, or CLI. It supports simulation testing, version publishing and restoring, and call monitoring with alerts.
