What is pgvector?
pgvector is an extension that lets you store vectors in Postgres alongside your other data and run exact and approximate nearest neighbor search. It supports single-precision, half-precision, binary, and sparse vectors, along with L2, inner product, cosine, L1, Hamming, and Jaccard distances. It can be used from any language that has a Postgres client, and you get Postgres features such as ACID, point-in-time recovery, and JOINs as they are. When you have many vectors, you can scale with quantization.
