What is Lumiere?

Lumiere is a text-to-video diffusion model announced by Google Research. With a Space-Time U-Net architecture, it generates the entire length of a video in a single pass of the model, which it describes as improving temporal consistency compared with the earlier approach of creating keyframes first and filling in between them. It can create video from text or images, and can generate video in the same style from a single reference image. It can also be used for video style transfer, cinemagraphs where only part of an image moves, and video inpainting. The published page is a research introduction page that shows the paper and example results.
