What is LAION?
LAION is a nonprofit organization made up of members worldwide, with the goal of making large-scale machine learning models, datasets, and related code available to the public. By encouraging the reuse of existing datasets and models, it promotes public education and environmentally friendly use of resources. It has released LAION-400M with 400 million English image-text pairs, LAION-5B with 5.85 billion multilingual pairs, the CLIP H/14 model, LAION-Aesthetics, and more. It is run on donations and public research grants.
